There is a saying: When it rains, it pours. Well it's been pouring for me this year. Sophie was limping on Monday. Both Harold and I checked her out to see why she was favoring her left back paw. We couldn't find anything. I kept her in her crate most of Monday and all of yesterday. It seemed to help, this morning she seemed like it wasn't bothering her. I decided to take her to the vet anyway.
When we got to the vet she was favoring her leg again Good thing we went to the vet, he checked her over. Apparently, she some how hurt her knee probably playing with Harley or on occasion when she chases one of the cats. He thinks her ACL may been torn. He said to keep her calm for a month, in other words, in her crate. Thank goodness she loves her crate. I can take her for short walks but that's it.
He wants to check her in a month, if all is going well, She will need to be kept calm for another month. If she is not better then she may have to have surgery to fix it. UGH!
I was so looking forward to getting her Schutzhund 1 this year. Maybe next year. I feel sorry for her, she just loves playing ball and going to practice. How do you explain to a dog, because they are hurt, they can't play?
