Since I can't write about Sophie's training, I decided to tell the story of Tootsie and her kittens.

On the morning of February 21, 2011, Harold woke me up at 4:00 in the morning to let me know Tootsie had her kittens, in his closet. He swears up and down he closed his closet door the night before. Anyway, I got up went to the closet, there were three kittens, one grey, one grey striped and one black. The grey striped one was off to the side all by itself. Harold and I thought for sure this one wasn't going to make it. It's body was so cold, I picked all them up brought the into our room with their mommy. Tootsie would not lay down with them. Fed up I put all of them into a box, put them in the bathroom closet, closed the door and went back to sleep. I thought for sure we were going to wake up and the one kitten was going to be dead. It wasn't.
The reason I keep referring to the cats as"it's"? They are not like dogs, you can't tell what sex they are until they are older. At least, I can't.
I was relieved we only had three kittens, then at about 4:00p.m. that same day, Tootsie had another kitten which looked exactly like her. I was at a loss for words. Harold said "I'll bet she's going to have a couple of more." I was in a state of panic. I was perfectly okay with the possibility of keeping four cats but anymore than that, No Way! We had to go to town that afternoon, when we got home the first thing I did was check to see if there were more kittens. No, just the four and all were doing well.
Ginger was so funny, whenever she was in the house, she would whine at the kittens. I think she may have thought they were rats. Ginger loves to chase rats. As they grew bigger though she realized they were like that other "thing" we now have living with us.

A closure look at them |
Tootsie is a great mother, she took such good care of her babies.
