A week before Christmas majority of my family was here with the exception of my three oldest nephews. Again, I was lacking in training with Sophie and it showed.
Today was not a good day. It was obvious I hadn't worked with Sophie on the place boards in quite a while. I have mostly been practicing with her for the Schutzund trial. Ted told me to go and practice with Sophie. He wanted me to send her from one board to another, then from one board to me, do a finish heal and send her to the other board. Below is sort of a diagram of the positioning of the boards and myself.

Since I hadn't worked with Sophie on this particular exercise in a while, both of us were rusty. All I heard was Ted from across the field yelling my name several times. Annabelle, Annabelle AN NA BELLE. It was to say the least quite embarrassing.
After practicing for a while, I gave Sophie a break before doing our Schutzund routine. Ted came over to talk to me about what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. I was standing about five feet from her, I should have moved closer when she didn't get what I was telling her to do.
When I got home later that day, I called Joe Feeney to tell her it was one of "those" days again. She said "I think the trainer has the problem, not the dog." I laughed and told her to shut up.
